I said no. Then it dawned on me…

I played the role of cheerleader this week, and my team won! Twice!

My high kicks and cartwheels weren't required, thank goodness (it's been a while), but my presence and plenty of applause were.

My twelve-year-old daughter Nell won Best Cricketer of the Year at her school's Sports Ceremony, which had us all beaming with pride.

Then my husband and I headed to London for the Business Book Awards, where he won Best Self-Development Book of 2026!

I couldn't be prouder. Anyone who knows Dominic knows how passionate he is about sharing tools to help people perform at their best. And Nell? Well, she's just wonderful, full stop!

Being a cheerleader for others is an easy role to play, but not so easy when it comes to cheering for ourselves. This became apparent at the award ceremony.

I was surrounded by authors, and the question I was asked most often, which I wasn't expecting, was "Do you write?"

The first time, I answered no. Then it dawned on me: I do.

I have written to you religiously every Sunday for the past two years and nine months.

The fact that you're reading this right now brings me so much joy. It inspires me, week after week, to keep doing something I love.

Yes, I do write. I may not be a published author, and I may not have a huge audience, but I have you.

So thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Cheer leading is so much fun so it’s nice to remember that at any moment we can play that part for ourselves. Maybe this week, you could take some time to notice one thing you do that you usually brush aside, and give yourself a round of applause.

Thank you for being here. Sending love and kindness,

Laura x
