A Lesson In Love This Weekend.

All you need is love… is it really that simple?

This weekend I’m spending time with my wonderful in-laws, Kim and Frank, as they celebrate fifty years of marriage. Fifty years!

Eleven of us come together. Their four grandchildren, three children and two daughters-in-law. All here, in this moment because of two people saying hello to each other on a bus over half a century ago.

Love. The most powerful force on the planet. Strong enough to hold two people together through the best and the hardest of times.

Love is the foundation of any strong marriage, but I’m sure Kim and Frank would recommend other ingredients to create the life that surrounds them now, fifty years on from their vows.

Some days it must have felt like sheer grit and determination.
Some days duty.
Some days courage.
Some days commitment.

ut love would have always been there. The anchor. The grounding to steady the hip when the waves came.

Kim and Frank's Golden Anniversary is a reminder that love isn’t just a feeling, it’s something we tend to. Something we return to. Something we choose, again and again.

And when we give it the space it needs, when we really pay attention to it, beauty has a way of appearing all around us.

So, I return to my question…

All you need is love… is it really that simple?

I don’t think so.

But I do think love is the root of all things worth having and without it where would we be?

So maybe this week, take a moment to notice the love that is present in your life, holding things together in ways you might usually overlook.

Kim and Frank, congratulations on all that you have created with your love. It’s truly beautiful.

Thank you for being here. Sending love and kindness,

Laura x
