A Simple Shift That Opens New Doors.

My inspiration for this week’s blog came from my handy pack of Intention Cards. I drew a card and it read:

I maintain a beginner’s mind.

The expert’s mind can become closed to further learning and growth, whereas the beginner’s mind remains open and receptive.

And actually, it was exactly what I needed to hear!

Next week I’ll be teaching yoga in a new way - virtually. So I find myself very much in this space of beginning and, I’ll be honest, it feels a little nerve-wracking.

Lots of new challenges have already, and I’m sure will continue to, arise. I’m used to being in the room with people, reading the energy, adjusting as we go. But here I am, learning a new way. I know it will stretch me and, hopefully, benefit all who decide to join me.

That’s the beauty of the beginner’s mind: it reminds us that growth doesn’t stop just because we’ve done something a certain way for a long time. There’s always another perspective, another layer, another way.

So this week, I’m choosing to embrace the nerves, the learning curve, the fresh start. I’m reminding myself that a beginner’s mind isn’t a weakness, it’s a doorway.

What about you? Where in your life might it serve you to approach things with a beginner’s mind?

Thank you for being here. Sending love and kindness,
