The Secret to Natural Radiance.

On the fourth day of my five day silent retreat, I found myself sitting crosslegged on my yoga mat at 7 a.m. Baggy clothes, no makeup, eyes closed, arms aching, body warm, halfway through our first practice of the day.

And then my teacher said: “Feel your natural radiance.”

And do you know what? I did!

I felt strong. Energised. Radiant.

To anyone else, I was just a middle aged woman looking a little dishevelled after four days of 5:25 a.m. wake-ups. But I didn’t care what I looked like. What mattered was how I felt. And in that moment, I felt my natural radiance.

So often in life, we’re taught to wear our beauty. Mascara, blush, concealer. And don’t get me wrong, I love my mascara but deep down, we know true beauty comes from the inside.

You can’t manufacture natural radiance. No foundation can outshine the glow of someone who is well rested, nourished, kind, and content.

Yoga gives us the time to reconnect with that inner glow. On the mat, we notice what dulls our shine. Stiffness, stubbornness, stagnation. And we gently clear it away.

Before you know it, you’re standing tall, strong, empowered, and radiant once again, your natural light shining brightly for the world to see.

Why not take five minutes today for yourself. Maybe on your mat or wherever you find yourself now, close your eyes, and simply breathe. Notice how quickly your radiance begins to return.
