Thank you India.
Not going to lie, it hasn’t been an easy week.
We all have them - weeks that leave us feeling emotionally battered and bruised.
So I would like to share the three things that have helped me lift the veil of confusion, overwhelm and exhaustion that has draped heavily over me this week.
NUMBER ONE
You’ve guessed it, my yoga practice. I have literally heard my yoga mat calling to me this week. So I have intentionally made time to get on to my mat. Just moving your body is enough to lighten the load of emotion weighing down on your shoulders.
NUMBER TWO
A very simple way to help me shift my thinking before bed to allow sleep is asking myself “What went well today?” You can always find something to bring a smile to your face no matter how small it may be.
NUMBER THREE
Listening to the song “Thank you” by Alanis Morissette full blast in the car. This song has the most beautiful and wisest of lyrics I’ve ever heard. I highly recommend you have a listen to the words and let them soak in deep.
I’m at a stage in my life now that I am fully aware my happiness is up to me. No one else. I want to take full responsibility for how I respond to life but this is a practice, a forever practice. So these little tips above are like helping hands pulling me out of any emotional quicksand that starts to drag me down.
I would love to hear what you do to get yourself out of an emotional rut as you can never have too many “helping hands”.
Thank you for being here. Sending love and kindness,
Laura x
