The Here And Now.

In the here and now I sit cross legged in my favourite chair and I see in front of me piles of clean white washing on the bed waiting to be folded and put away.

I see my spider plant strong and healthy sitting on the window ledge as soft sun gently shines through her leaves.

I hear strangers from the Airbnb across the road having a jolly conversation.

I feel the dull ache of discomfort on the left side of my neck. It has been with me too long now, and the muffled ringing sound in my blocked left ear from too much swimming on holiday.

I feel silly and annoyed with myself that my best intentions failed this week.

I can smell the castor oil that I smothered my body in this morning in the effort to nourish my skin after weeks of sun.

I can taste the enjoyable bitterness of my morning cup of black tea laced with my daily dose of creatine.

This is the here and now. Not bad or good. It just is. I know these sensations will all pass and new ones will arrive.

I am here. Not in my past, not in my future. This is a practice to appreciate the here and now.

So I have five simple questions for you:

What can you see?

What can you hear?

What can you smell?

What can you taste?

What can you feel?

Welcome to the here and now.

Thank you for being here. Sending love and kindness,
