Life Is A Juggling Act.

Life is a juggling act and to help us keep all the balls in the air we have to find moments of routine, of practice, of self care so that those balls of life don’t come crashing down.

My morning routine gives this to me. At least five days a week I give myself a solid half an hour. It involves my first cup of black tea, my journal and my yoga practice. This time is magic! It sets me up for the day.

However, last week we added a new ball into the mix and inevitably as we make the juggling act more complex a few balls are getting dropped in the process.

As this little fellow, our new puppy, Brae has come bouncing into our lives, “Bye bye morning routine”! There’s a new routine in town and he’s fluffy and he’s cute and pees every half an hour - or at least it feels that way!

So it’s time to flex! I may not be physically on my yoga mat every morning but I am still practicing the principles of yoga. Yoga teaches us not just how to flex our bodies and minds but also how to deal with having to flex our schedules, our expectations.

This feeling of flexing brings me peace in the knowing that we will always eventually return to our centre.

I know my morning routine will be back but right now I am flexing in the direction of giving our puppy the best start in life and welcoming him to his new home.

What have you recently had to flex towards or away from to keep all your juggling balls in the air?

Namaste.
